Description: 1954 Whitey Ford New York Yankees professional model home jersey. Pinstriped home jersey has the Yankees famed "NY" logo on the left front chest and player number "16" on the back. The team logo appears to be a vintage example which was reattached to the jersey while the numbers on back have been completely restored. This is not uncommon for a Yankees jersey of this time period as they often had their identifiers removed when sent down for use in the Minor League system. A "Spalding" tag appears in the collar along with size "42" tag. "16 E Ford" is embroidered in the left front tail and there is a wash tag inside with adjacent "Set 1 1954" flag tag. In fine overall condition with evident usage and wash wear. Ford won (16) games for the Yankees in just his third season with the club and earned the first of what would be (10) All-Star Game appearances.
