Description: 1940 Cincinnati Reds World Series ring. Original 14K gold ring as presented to pitcher Gene Thompson as a member of the 1940 World Champion Reds team. Top of the ring displays a large solitaire diamond of .50 Carat weight inset within a red field having World Champion Cincinnati Reds lettering encircling. Both side panels feature Reds "C" in red enamel both of which have some minor chipping. Marked on interior ring band as having been presented to Thompson by the Commissioner of Baseball and stamped "14K". Size 10. Rare and desirable championship ring dating to the Reds' first World Series title since the 1919 club defeated the Chicago "Black Sox": EXEstimated Price Range: ($15,000-$25,000)
