Description: 1939 Baseball Hall of Fame Inaugural Induction Class autograph display. Tastefully done large format framed display (26"x32.5") was done to commemorate the event which took place in Cooperstown on June 12, 1939. Along with a trio of related images (modern prints) is an original Baseball Centennial uniform patch and autographs of each player shown. Most of the signed pieces have been "floated" beneath the matting with mounting corners and all can be easily removed and a few are held in place by conservator's tape which could be removed by a professional. Includes Babe Ruth - album page with "Sincerely" written above (in his hand) and a 1943 date at upper corner (not by Ruth); Ty Cobb - 1930 dated personal check; Grover C. Alexander - cut from Government postcard; Larry Lajoie - cut from Government postcard; Cy Young - index card (or similar size/type piece); Walter Johnson - 1940 dated personal check; Honus Wagner - 1920 dated personal check; Eddie Collins - 1949 postmarked Government postcard; George Sisler - 1951 postmarked Government postcard; K.M. Landis - index card dated 1930; and Connie Mack - cut signature. Signatures rate 7 to 9/10 out of 10 and there are varying degrees/types of wear to the signed pieces themselves. A visually appealing display comprised of an impressive collection of noted and important early player signatures. Includes full LOA from JSA: VG-NM
