Lot Number: 122

Description: Very rare 1919 Claude "Lefty" Williams and Charles Comiskey autographed Chicago White Sox payroll check (PSA/DNA graded "9.5"). July 24, 1919 dated check drawn on his account has been signed "Chas. A. Comiskey" at lower right front corner. It is made payable to "C.Williams" (Claude Williams) who has signed the back in similar fashion. Both fountain pen signatures rate 9 to 9/10 out of 10. Light general wear with (3) vertical fold lines, an unobtrusive staple hole near left edge, and one small hole in addition to the typical bank cancellation. Williams was one of the main figures among the White Sox players who conspired to throw the 1919 World Series and his autograph ranks among the rarest from that time period with only a handful of examples known. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA with "Overall grade: 9.5": Sigs. NM/MT, Check VG/EX
