Description: Unusual Babe Ruth and the Philadelphia Athletics snapshot photographs c.1928 (32 pieces). Interesting collection of sepia toned photographs (32 total) show Philadelphia Athletics players in uniform with one peculiar addition; Babe Ruth. Story has it that Cobb and Ruth were playing each other in a spring training game and as a joke Ruth masqueraded as a player for the A's. Others incl. Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker (2),Connie Mack, Eddie Collins, Kid Gleason (2), Lefty Grove, Mickey Cochrane, and Jimmy Foxx. Each has the player name written on in period ink and some mild general wear along with mounting residue to back corners. Several pieces have the date June 30, 1928 written on in pencil and while this may appropriately related to a small portion, others were likely taken in Spring Training. Sizes range from approx. 3.5"x4.5" to 3.5"x6": GD-VG

Estimated Price Range: ($1,000-$3,000)
