Lot Number: 518

Description: Cache of (8) scarce 1919 World Series related photographs with others including Joe Jackson attributed image. Series of 3.25"x4.25" sepia toned photos show various scenes in and around baseball stadiums. Three were taken inside Comiskey Park which is decorated with bunting as put in place for the 1919 World Series. One is a wide angle shot taken from up high showing a game in play, another shows Hap Flesch, and the last is of a left handed batter from behind which based on comparisons to other documented images is believed to be Shoeless Joe Jackson("Jackson" written on the back). Remaining photos are clearly from the same group and include a view of the outside of Redland Field, a Reds player in unidentified stadium (possibly Forbes), image of a trio of well dressed men on field at unidentified stadium, exterior shot of unidentified stadium, and an image of pedestrians on a busy sidewalk. Touch of light toning and a hint of wear. Incredibly rare grouping of original images taken during the most infamous World Series in the history of the game: EX-EX/MT
