Description: Rare 1912 World Series photography (13) including choice game action shots. Important collection of images offers an uncommon glimpse into early Championship Series play. The sepia toned photographs each measure 4"x5" and are identified as follows: First game - Doyle out at second, Yerkes at bat; Second game - Hooper slides into second, Murray safe at third, Murray sliding back to first after attempted steal; Third game - Speaker presented with car on field prior to start, Murray sliding across home to score; Fifth game - Merkle safe at third, Yerkes safe at third; Sixth game - Murray out trying for second, Gardner reaches first after Marquard fumbles ball; Seventh game - Meyers sliding into third, Gardner crossing home to score; Eighth game - Herzog slides into third on Meyers sacrifice; and (1) additional image captioned "Devore safe" with no game noted. There are (8) images which are mounted back to back on sections of scrapbook page with the caption noted below. The balance are loose with the related caption having been clipped from the same scrapbook.
