Very substantive trophy standing 33+ tall as presented to Groat in recognition of his outstanding 1960 season in which he captured the National League MVP honors. Walnut wooden base with large brass bulbous body having figural batsman finial (replaced bat). Brass placard affixed to the base inscribed, -Dick Groat Pirates Most Valuable Player 1960 Presented by Joseph Horne Co.+. Some minor tarnish to the brass surface and general light to moderate surface wear overall. Very impressive display piece with relation to Groat+s finest season.
