Notable and prestigious honor as presented to Groat in recognition of his outstanding achievement during the 1951-52 season as a member of the Duke University basketball team. Large walnut plinth style base havinf columnar brass top with large figural basketball player finial. Applied brass placard on the base inscribed, -College Player of the Year 1051-52 Dick Groat, Duke, Phila. Basketball Writers Assn.+ Missing one of the winged angel garniture pieces at left side which coudl be replaced if so desired. 33+ tall with some general light tarnish and surface wear.
