Description: Jim Bottomley professional quality baseball bat c.1934-44. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Bottomley facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 30.6oz. Useage wear is evident throughout with ball and contact marks covering the hitting surface below the barrel stampings. There is a large crack in the upper handle. Side writing along one side, in an area where the surface finish has been removed, is faint and no longer readable. While the offered bat falls far short of the weights which are listed on Bottomley's factory ordering records it is a suitable career contemporary example for display and only the second pro model/quality bat of his we have handled.
