Description: Large 1960 Roberto Clemente presentational figural trophy (World Championship season). Oversized figural trophy standing 34" tall as presented to Clemente by the Joseph Horne Co. as "Pittsburgh's Favorite Pirate" for the 1960 World Championship season. Applied brass placard is affixed to plinth style walnut wooden base having figural brass urn shaped body with baseball finial and cast brass batter. Batter is a period replacement and is missing its bat. Light to moderate surface wear including patination to the brass surfaces. Very impressive visual trophy dating to the first World Championship season for Clemente's career. Includes letter of provenance from the Clemente family: EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$3,000)
