Description: Rare Nellie Fox professional model glove with exceptional provenance c. mid-1950s. Wilson "Nelson Fox" personal model A2900 left handed fielders' glove remains well preserved with choice evident usage wear including a well formed pocket. An included letter of provenance signed by wife, Joanne, relays that it is "game used" and comes directly from the Family Collection. After his 1949 Rookie season in Philadelphia, Fox was traded to the Chicago White Sox and developed into their primary star player and anchor of the "Go-Go Sox" teams of the 1950s. The (12) time All-Star holds the distinction of being one of the toughest outs in Major League history having never struck out more than (18) times in a season.
