Description: September 1971 Roberto Clemente "Borough of Manhattan Roberto Clemente Week" Presentational Proclamation with related invitation. Large 14"x22" parchment proclamation issued by the President of the Borough of Manhattan pronouncing the week of September 23, 1971 as "Roberto Clemente Week". The content includes reference to Clemente as "source of pride for all Puerto Ricans" and having "won the batting crown in his league on four occasions". Certificate is signed by President Percy Sutton at bottom and retains its original gilt seal. Small area of toning at top left from folding/intersection with gilt seal. The lot also includes an original Sept. 25, 1971 printed invitation for a related banquet honoring Clemente at the Hotel Commodore in New York City.
