Description: Fine 1966 Roberto Clemente Pittsburgh Pirates professional model road jersey (NL MVP Season). Grey flannel vest style jersey retains its original "Pirates" black on gold lettering across the front with "21" on both front and back. MacGregor tagging (size 42)(1964-67 labeling period) affixed within the collar area with "MacGregor Set 1 1966" and dry clean tagging found inside the tail front. The jersey presents in superlative original condition with the exception of a lone button which is a period replacement and mentioned for accuracy only. Overall use and wash wear is exemplary and evident while retaining fresh original color and surface. Clemente collected 202 hits with an average of .317 while belting 29 home runs in addition to playing Gold Glove caliber defense in right field. The offered jersey is one of only three examples retained within the Clemente collection and presents as notably desirable dating to his only MVP season.
