Description: Enormous Roberto Clemente National League Batting Champion figural trophy presented by Westinghouse Electric Company c.1967 (Photographic provenance). Imposing figural trophy as presented to Clemente in recognition of his fourth National League batting championship in 1967. Trophy stands 42" high, having walnut wooden plinth style base in two sections connected by large plated aluminum columnar supports. Four smaller batter figurals adorn the base with central Greek athletic figural on pedestal in center and additional batter finial atop a two handled silver plated loving cup at top. Inscribed silver-plated placard affixed to top section of the base denoting Clemente's batting average for each year he won the NL title. Lower silver-plated placard is inscribed (in Spanish), "To Roberto Clemente in homage of admiration for the excellence of his Contribution to the Sport Westinghouse Electric Corp. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania". Overall condition is very fine with some touch up to the plating and replaced bats to the batter figurals along with some light wear to the finish on the wooden base sections. Prominent and notable presentational award with desirable photographic provenance relating to Clemente's impressive accomplishment of four NL batting titles.
