Description: Fine 1967 Roberto Clemente Dapper Dan award. Silver plated two handled loving cup style award presented to Clemente on January 29, 1967 by the prestigious Dapper Dan Club of Pittsburgh, PA as the "Sports Figure Who Did the Most to Publicize the City of Pittsburgh". Inscribed to Clemente with titling and date on front panel. Light general surface wear overall. The Dapper Dan Charities were founded by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editor, Al Abrams in 1936. It is one of the oldest non-profit and fundraising community sports club in the world, and the oldest in Western Pennsylvania. Includes letter of provenance from the Clemente family: EX-EX/MT
