Description: Roberto Clemente "25 Years of World Series Heroes" presentational award. Notable award as presented by Major League Baseball and Sport Magazine in 1979 to recognize 25 Years of World Series Heroes. The offered award was given in recognition of Clemente's outstanding play during the 1971 World Series in which he captured MVP honors. Walnut wooden plinth base having an affixed silver plated placard on front featuring MLB insignia and inscribed to Clemente with titling. Inset Lucite geometrical figural having "World Series MVP 1955-1979" within a baseball shaped design. 13" long with minor surface wear to the base and Lucite figural. Electrified base with intact wiring but does not currently illuminate. Includes letter of provenance from the Clemente family: EXEstimated Price Range: ($2,500-$5,000)
