Description: Honus Wagner signature model “40K” cork grip baseball bat c.1914-16. Louisville Slugger bat with dash-dot-dash center brand displaying the “40-K” model number designation measures 33” long and weighs 35oz. A deeply impressed “J.Hans Wagner” facsimile signature appears in the barrel end. Also burned in is the “Kork Grip Patented Sep 15, 1914” text and the cork remains attached in a few areas on the handle. Strong usage and some age related wear includes a small piece of wood missing from the back of the barrel, some general pitting, a few chips to barrel and knob ends, and grain swelling.
