Description: 1918 Walter Johnson handwritten letter to George Weiss (EX/MT) August 29, 1918 Handwritten letter has been signed "Walter Johnson" in period fountain pen rating 8 out of 10. Content relates to a trip he would be taking shortly to play Exhibition games against the New Haven baseball team then owned by Weiss. A good many notable players made their way including Babe Ruth who came in to relieve Johnson during one such game just a week after he and the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. Faint mailing fold and a hint of light wear. A rare career-era example from Johnson as written to a fellow Hall of Famer. Includes auction LOA from JSA: EX/MTEstimated Price Range: ($1,500-$2,000)
