Description: Important 1921 Columbus Panhandles team photograph. Rare early sepia toned photograph featuring the team billed by Joe Carr (shown at far right) as the "Toughest in Professional Football" which included (6) of the famed Nesser brothers and the only father/son combo in history. Just one year prior the Panhandles are beloved to have played in the first NFL game after signing on as charter members to the League, then known as the American Professional Football Association. Image (7.75"x9.75") shows a touch of light toning and light wear with a minor wrinkle/crease at lower right. Heavy stock backing to which it is mounted (as issued) shows slightly more pronounced wear with some small chips to corners. Includes letter of provenance from the Carr Family: VG/EX
