Lot Number: 339

Description: Harmon Killebrew autographed and "game used...1954" inscribed professional model baseball bat. Louisville Slugger 125 model baseball bat with Killebrew facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 34oz. Model number "K55" has been stamped in the knob. It has been signed "Harmon Killebrew" and inscribed above, "This is a game used bat from my 1954 season" in marker rating 8-8/9 out of 10. Well known to have saved significant bats from throughout his career, Killebrew often signed pieces in similar fashion which originated directly from his personal collection. While factory records reflect orders matching these specifications as having been shipped to Killebrew in both 1954 and 1955, there is no reason to doubt that he retained this one during his 1954 Rookie season specifically. Evident usage wear throughout (denoted as "light" by PSA) with scattered ball and a few rack marks along with several deeper depressions. The number "3" written on knob is classified by PSA as having likely been added later. An outstanding early career example from one of the great power hitters of the era and a member of baseball's' fabled 500 Home Run Club. Includes auction LOA from JSA (auto) and LOAs from Hunt Auctions, PSA/DNA ("GU 6.5"), and MEARS ("A8"): EX
