Description: Exceedingly rare 1916 Boston Red Sox team signed baseball with Babe Ruth (World Champions). Red and blue stitched Reach B.Johnson Official American League baseball has been signed by approximately (22) members of the World Series Championship team. While nearly all have largely faded, those which remain identifiable include Babe Ruth, Herb Pennock, Dutch Leonard, Carl Mays, Charles (Heinie) Wagner, Duffy Lewis, Jack Barry, Harry Hooper, Tillie Walker, Everett Scott, Larry Gardner, and George Foster. Technical grade of the signatures, as signed in period fountain pen, would range from 1 to 4/5 out of 10. Ball itself has evenly toned with a few scattered spots of discoloration and some light wear. Stampings remain bold and well defined. Of noted rarity this example is one of only a handful extant and the first we have offered at auction.
