Description: Babe Ruth autographed bowling shoe c.1930-40s. Vintage tan leather bowling shoe which has been signed by Babe Ruth in blue fountain pen. Signature rates 6 out of 10 with a light clear coat having been applied in the period. Youth size shoe indicative that it was likely signed for a young fan along with several other unknown signatures on the shoe who may well have been friends of the recipient. Given Ruth+s immense national popularity he frequently appeared in a variety of activities including bowling, fishing, hunting, and golfing all of which acted to increase his standing within the culture of the country at the time.
