Description: Fine Jackie Robinson professional model baseball bat c.1953 (PSA "GU 9"). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 34.5+ long and weighs 34.5oz. with a bold Robinson facsimile signature impressed in the barrel end. Un-cracked and showing evidence of outstanding use, there are ball and stitch marks visible throughout. In addition, there are a number of green and blue rack streaks. Louisville Slugger factory records confirm the bat to have been ordered during the 1953 season; the only in which this particular model ("O16" as stamped in the knob) was shipped to Robinson. Hitting a respectable .329 for the year, Robinson once again lead the Dodgers to a National League Championship. The offered bat originates from the personal collection of a New York gentleman whose father was acquainted with an employee of the Brooklyn Dodgers back in the 1950s era. The employee knew the youth was a fan of the Dodgers and subsequently presented the boy+s father with the offered bat to be given to the young fan. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA (graded "GU 9"), LOA from Hunt Auctions, and letter of provenance from the original recipient : EX
