Description: Fine Bear Bryant custom tweed suit with well documented history c.1972. A Legendary Coach and iconic figure within the realm of Collegiate football, Paul "Bear" Bryant's career lasted (38) years including (25) storied seasons at the University of Alabama. Along the way the Crimson Tide collected (13) Conference Championships, (6) National Championships, and (323) wins which, at the time of his retirement in 1982, were good enough for a record. Trademark through all of those years was his distinctive attire. Tweed sportcoat, done in the style that became synonymous with Bryant, has a "Baldone" tag on the inside front pocket and another above which reads "Custom Tailored for Paul Bryant" tag above. Additional Union tag inside the pocket itself has "P.Bryant" typed on along with "10-72" production date. Matching pants have similarly marked Union tag affixed to back pocket. Usage and wash wear evident throughout with the pair remaining well preserved overall. Exceptionally well documented history can be traced through a typewritten statement from the Alabama booster whom aquired it directly from Bryant, photocopy of a letter to him from Bryant (thanking him for help in a Coaching drive), a 1980s newspaper article in which he is shown with the suit, and some other related paperwork. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and afforementioned documentation: EX
