Description: Ray Baer scrapbooks and related material incl. lettermans' blanket. Varied assortment of materials as relate to his University of Michigan football career and other aspects of college life. Includes hardcover scrapbook which has been gilt lettered "Ray Baer Michigan 1928" on the front cover. Interior pages are filled with a variety of newspaper clippings along with postcards, letters, invitations, tickets/stubs, passes and other pieces which relate to Baer's college life with portions covering football. Most notable are several period photographs of Bear and other players, 1925 Michigan vs. Illinois sideline pass, and assorted Wolverines/football related paperwork. All pages are separated from binding and have varying degrees of chipping/loss and other wear; (2) additional books of similar size which contains clippings related to both high school and college football along with some other pieces (similar chipping/wear and separation of binding); Blanket has a large "M" patch applied at one corner with a pair of stars below. The name "Ray Bear" is embroidered at opposite corner. A well worn manufacturers remains affixed; an assortment of telegrams sent to Bear during his college playing days; and a pair of heavy bronze bookends have "Michigan" lettered at bottom front. The year 1911 pre-dates Baer's attendance at the school. Varying degrees of wear throughout: see description
