Description: September 27, 1985 baseball attributed to Pete Rose Base Hit #4,202 (Reds Ball Boy Provenance). Lightly toned and soiled C.Feeney NL baseball exhibiting evident game use including impact marking on manufacturer sweet spot. The ball has been signed on the sweet spot, "Pete Rose 4,202" in black ink rating 7/8 out of 10. According to the account by Reds ball boy Andy Bolger (letter included) the offered baseball was hit for Rose's 4,202nd career base hot against the Houston Astros. After the base it the ball was given, sequentially, to Astros pitcher, home plate umpire, and to the Reds ball boy who retained the baseball. After the game the ball boy had Rose sign the ball with the 4,202 inscription. Desirable game ball which certainly ranks as one of the highest hit total examples to have entered the marketplace with note to Rose's career total of 4,252.
