Description: Fine 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates team autographed Don Hoak professional model baseball bat with World Series attribution. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 36" long and weighs 35oz .having U1 model number stamped on knob end. Bat shows evident use and has a period clear coat applied. The bat has been autographed by (37) members of the Pittsburgh Pirates 1960 World Championship team to include Clemente, Mazeroski, Face, Friend, Law, Kabine, Vernon, Virdon, Skinner, and Hoak. George Sisler and Joe L. Brown (rare signature) have also signed the bat as members of the Pirates ownership and front office. The Danny Murtaugh signature has been clubhouse signed as commonly seen. Autographs range from 7-9 out of 10 having been nicely preserved. The offered bat originated from the family of Carleton who was an aquaintance of Don Hoak and attended the 1960 World Series as evidenced by the accompanying original image picturing same. The bat was signed by the team at the request of Hoak for Mr. Carleton and presented to him as having been the bat used by Hoak during the 1960 World Series. Exceptional team signed bat being offered for the first time publicly by the Carleton family.
