Description: Fine 1971 Pete Rose autographed Cincinnati Reds professional model road jersey (with possible 1970 World Series attribution). Playing with determined intensity Pete Rose cemented a baseball legacy that is rooted in his time as a central figure in Cincinnati's "Big Red Machine." The 1970 season marked the first in which the team reached post-season play and offered a glimpse of the dominance they would put on display in capturing (4) National League titles and a pair of World Series Championship during his time with the club. Desirable all original gray flannel jersey has "Cincinnati" lettered across the front with number "14" below. Number also appears on back below the name, "Rose." Chain stitch embroidered strip tag in the collar reads "Rose" and the year "1971" is done in similar fashion on the front tail. Also on front tail is a Wilson manufacturers tag noting size (42). The jersey remains in an exceptional state of preservation displaying mild usage and wash wear with no mentionable flaws. Signed in black marker, "Pete Rose 1971" rating 8/9 out of 10. Includes a detailed letter from MEARS with assigned grade of "A10" (their highest rating for a jersey which has been deemed "Authentic") and presents evidence that it was possibly issued for use in the 1970 World Series based on button placement/configuration and photographic analysis.
