Lot Number: 70

Description: Rare 1979 Philadelphia Phillies "Saturday Night Special" bat boy uniform autographed by (6) including Hall of Famers. Exceedingly rare one game style as worn by the Phillies on May 19, 1979 vs. the Expos in Montreal. Originally intended for use in all Saturday night home games, team members blamed the look of the uniforms for their poor performance in the game, which was lost 10-5, and vowed never to wear them again. Maroon zipper front jersey has the "P" team logo on left front chest and a "Bat Boy" nameplate on back. Rawlings manufacturer's tag appears on front tail with adjacent "Set 1 1979" flag tag. Additional embroidered strip tag reads "40 79 1." The jersey has been signed on the front by Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Pete Rose, Tug McGraw, Larry Bowa, and Larry Christensen. Marker signatures rate 7 to 8/9 out of 10. Pants are likewise by Rawlings (size 30), also having a "Set 1 1979" flag tag, and an embroidered strip tag which reads "30 20 BB 79 1." Usage wear evident throughout. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX
