Description: Rare 1895 Latrobe Athletic Association team photograph incl. John Brallier. Sepia toned 7"x9" photograph depicts the 1895 Latrobe, PA football team including player John Brallier whom is acknowledged as one of the earliest professionals in the game. Athough research has turned up a small number of players whom accepted pay to play prior, Brallier was the first to openly accept financial remuneration. Two years later the LaTrobe team would become the first to roster an entire squad of openly paid professionals. Rare print is one of a small number of vintage copies known with date of printing likely from the 1895-1910 period. Central portion displays a hint of silvering and some light wear incl. corner chips. There is a small tear at upper left and an "X" in ink on the front.
