Description: 1867 "The Ball Players' Chronicle" Volume 1 (hard bound). Exceedingly rare compilation representing the first (30) issues of this important work which was the first baseball periodical as published in 1867 by Thompson & Pearson and edited by Henry Chadwick. Issued between June and December, each issue is filled with boxscores, game summaries, and general historical record of baseball in the period. One of the most comprehensive references available and almost never seen in this complete form. Relatively clean with some minor toning/spotting to a portion of interior pages and some rips/tears on a few pages have been professionally repaired.
