Description: Exceptional Roberto Clemente professional model baseball bat c.1964. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 36" long and weighs 36.2oz with deeply impressed Clemente facsimile signature on barrel end. Model number "G105" is stamped in the knob which also has a period "21" written on in black marker. Outstanding usage wear evident throughout the barrel with deeply impressed ball and stitch marks, numerous rack marks, and grain swelling. In addition, the upper hitting surface has been scored, a desirable trait observed on several other Clemente bats from this period. Based on the style of centerbrand applied and factory records which indicate shipments of this particular model in 36" length we can date production to 1964; the heart of his career, and a year in which he took home him his second batting title, earned his 5th All-Star selection, and was award the fourth of what would be (12) consecutive Gold Glove Awards. Offered for the first time publicly by the nephew of the Pittsburgh area nun whom obtained it in the period through her friendships with Pirates players.
