Description: 1953 Johnny Pesky "100,000 Mile Club" plaque with related signed checks. Shield shaped wooden placard (approximately 6.5"x9") having affixed figural relief of flying airplane which is lettered around the edge, "Member of United Air Lines 100,000 Mile Club." Below is engraved placard reading, "To John M. Pesky, in appreciation of your valuable contribution to air transport progress, 1953." Included are a series of 1949-1960 dated personal checks, each made payable to assorted airlines and signed at lower right by Pesky. Signatures rate 8 to 9 out of 10, checks have light general/typical handling wear/cancellations; Pesky single signed Rawlings B.Selig OML baseball (ink, 9 out of 10); and auction LOA from JSA: Checks EX-EX/MT, Sigs.
