Description: 1941 Lefty Grove 300th Win presentational award by Balfour. Important piece as presented to the legendary hurler who was then only the 12th man in history to reach the elusive mark. Shield shaped wooden placard (15"x18.25") has a well done etched likeness of Grove affixed at center flanked by floral decor. Above is a red enameled "Red Sox" logo and below, a metal placard which reads, "Congratulations to Robert Lefty Grove, On His 300th Major League Victory, From The Yankee-Colonial Network, July 25, 1941. Marked "Balfour" on back. Light wear to wooden portion and expected mild age discoloration to metal. Significant offering being one of the very few pieces as relate to such an accomplishment to have entered the secondary market: EX/MTEstimated Price Range: ($10,000-$15,000)
