Description: Rare 1942 Rose Bowl display banner. Very attractive original banner of silk construction with applique felt dÄcor issued for the 1942 Rose Bowl game between Duke and Oregon State. The banner measures 18"x36" framed and remains in outstanding original condition with bright color and clean surface. The 1942 Rose Bowl was historically significant in that the site was shifted from its traditional California location to Duke Stadium in Durham, NC due to concerns of an attack by the Japanese during West Coast events with large fan attendance.
