Description: Exceedingly rare early "head harness" style four-spoke leather football helmet c.1890s-1910s. Well preserved early helmet comprised of 4 "spokes," with ear flaps at either side, joined by canvas strap at front and leather in back. Light usage wear is evident throughout and the leather, though showing some spotting/discoloration, remains soft and pliable. Retains original chin strap. Incredible style rarity is almost never offered with this near museum quality example likely being the finest to come to market in many years: Overall EXEstimated Price Range: ($2,000-$4,000)
