Lot Number: 197

Description: 1980 Jack Ham autographed "game worn" Pittsburgh Steelers professional model jersey. White dureen jersey has player number "59" on front, back, and shoulders along with "Ham" nameplate on back. Three quarter length yellow and black accented sleeves retain sewn in elbow reinforcements. Proper "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Pittsburgh Steelers" and "Medalist Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tags present on front tail with adjacent size "50" flag tag and "80" year tag. Outstanding usage wear is evident throughout with several team repairs and a few scattered small holes/tears. The back numbers have been replaced and it appears that this was done by the team in the period; likely the result of either extensive wear or a style change. Each of these numbers has been signed "Jack Ham" in gold paint pen rating 8 to 8/9 out of 10 with one inscribed "HOF 1988" and the other, "Game Worn." A lauded member of the dominant 1970s era Steelers, Ham was a key figure on (4) of their Super Bowl winning teams and is one of a select group of players whose uniform number has not been re-issued by the team since retirement. Regarded as one of the greatest outside linebackers in NFL history his numerous honors included (8) Pro-Bowl selections and spots on both the NFL 1970s All-Decade and 75th Anniversary All-Time Teams. With note to the overall rarity of Steelers game equipment and enhanced desirability of a piece directly attributed to so notable a player, the offered jersey is one of the strongest representations from this era which we have handled. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA (auto) and LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX
