Description: July 26, 1949 Wally Moses autographed and inscribed 2,000th hit baseball. Reach W.Harridge Official American League baseball has been signed on the upper panel, "Wally Moses." Period blue ink signature rates 7 to 7/8 out of 10 and additionally Moses inscribed the sweetspot "2000th Hit" and panel below with the game date "July 26 1949." Ball displays evident usage wear with expected soiling throughout. Includes 8"x9.5" period press photograph from the Baseball Magazine Archives (AP stampings on verso) showing Moses being congratulated by Connie Mack. At the time he was one of only three active players to have reached the elusive level and the 86th in history.
