Description: Scarce 1924 Washington Senators World Championship pendant presented to George Mogridge. In dramatic fashion, the Senators won the Championship in Game (7) which stretched to (12) innings Highly visual presentational piece as awarded to Mogridge features elaborate designwork incorporating a relief of the Capitol Building above a pair of crossed bats with ball at center highlighted by a diamond. Red and blue enameled portions are titled in gold block lettering, "Washington World Champions 1924." Back is lettered, "Presented to George Mogridge by the Commissioner of Baseball." Pinback closure modification executed in the period partially covers the Dieges & Clust 14K markings (closure itself is stamped 10K). One of the more substantive pieces of championship jewelry from this early period, pendant weighs (20) grams. Includes a series of small snapshot photographs, newsprint clipping, and real photo postcard picturing Mogridge.
