Description: Ornate 1902 figural baseball trophy. Handled trophy cup with garland/floral decor incorporated into the manufacture or incised/applied to areas throughout. Engraved on one side is likeness of a batter which bears striking resemblance to Jack Glasscock on his N28 Allen & Ginter tobacco card. Opposite side has been lettered, "Base Ball Trophy, July 4, 1902, won by Canton Meadow City No.29." Lid is decorated with a trio of crossed bats leaning on baseball. Touch of light surface wear/tarnish. "Meriden Silver Plate" maker's mark on underside and the piece stands 14.5" tall: EX/MTEstimated Price Range: ($750-$1,000)
