Description: October 20, 1889 New York Giants Championship Testimonial handbill. Original period one page fold over program as issued for the New York Base Ball Club Grand Testimonial Concert and Presentation of Pennant. Period entertainers Digby Bell and DeWolff Hopper arranged the evening, noteworthy in that Hopper's name is synonymous with his famed reading of "Casey At The Bat." Although the piece bears resemblance to interior pages of a larger and more elaborate program issued at the event, subtle differences ensure that it was produced on its own accord. Toning/wrinkling throughout with wear/chipping at edges. Mounted at left edge to scrapbook backing and there is a small tear on back.
