Lot Number: 199

Description: Fine lot of (3) Edward H. White autographed photographs to Warren Spahn c.1965. Trio of official NASA color images picturing US Astronaut Ed White during the Gemini 4 space mission. Portrait variation is signed, "To Warren I certainly enjoyed meeting you. You have done so much to make baseball good! Edward H. White GT-4". Also included are two spectacular original images of White's EVA (space walk) which was the first by any American in space. One is signed by name with GT-4 inscription with the other inscribed, "To Warren-I enjoyed meeting-Best Luck! Edward H. White". Signatures remain in superb original condition rating 9/10 out of 10. These particular photos were believed to have been signed for Spahn just 22 days after the Gemini 4 mission on the occasion of a visit by members of the Giants team to the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center. Tragically, White would perish in a horrific fire during the pre-launch sequence of the Apollo I mission along with colleagues Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee. Includes auction LOA from JSA: Photos: EX-MT, Signatures: NM
