Description: Superb Sonny Jurgensen Washington Redskins professional model jersey c.1968-1969. Classic Redskins maroon dureen jersey retains its original -9+ on front, back, and both sleeves. Gold and white striping remains bright and vibrant on each sleeve with original Sand Knit tagging affixed on the tail front. Jersey shows evident use and wash wear including puckering to the numerals and appropriate surface wear. Tail front has one small tear at the bottom. Jurgensen remains to date one of the most highly regarded quarterbacks in NFL history compiling a record of durability over 18 seasons which is matched by few of his era. Elected into the Hall of Fame in 1983, he is believed by many to be the greatest pure passer of his time. With note to the unimpeachable primary source, condition, and dating period of the offered jersey it must certainly be lauded as one of the finest, if not the finest, of its type to have been sold at public auction.
