Description: Superb football oil on canvas painting by Harmon Anderson as used on the cover of "Boys Life" c.1931. Brilliantly colorful original oil on canvas rendering by noted 1930s artist Harold N. Anderson depicting a uniformed football player in kicking pose with stadium in the background. Usage of color and light is exceptional with simplistic yet detailed workmanship. The painting was featured as the basis for the front cover artwork of the October 1931 issue of "Boys Life" a copy of which is included with the lot. Painting remains in fine overall condition measuring an impressive 24"x29" in a mahogany frame signed at lower left by the artist. Period notations are visible on the back of the canvas notating its use in the Boys Life medium.
