Description: Extremely rare "Addie Joss Day" real photo postcard c.1911. Original sepia toned real photo postcard pictured on front, in two sections, a representation of the famed panoramic photograph taken during the July 24, 1911 Addie Joss Day benefit game. Played at League Park in Cleveland the Naps were pitted against a team of American League All-Stars with many of the games most noted stars participating. Those pictured include Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Frank Baker, Eddie Collins, and Joe Jackson. Joss Day related photography remains among the most desirable from the period and though numerous examples of the large format photograph on which this piece is based have surfaced - the offered remains one of only a handful to have come to market in this format. One of the premier pieces within the niche of baseball postcard collecting. Hint of light wear at corners and edges is mentioned for accuracy with a touch of silvering throughout.
