Description: 1996 New York Yankees World Series ring. Original ring as issued for the Yankees historic 1996 World Series in which they captured their first World Championship since 1978. Joe DiMaggio threw out the ceremonial first pitch for Game #1 played at Yankee Stadium before a crowd of over 56,000 on Oct. 20, 1996. The ring features "NY" logo on the top surrounded by (23) diamonds within the logo. "1996 World Champions" encircles the NY logo on top. One side panel has the Yankees logo with "Tradition" printed below. The other side panel has "Collins" raised lettering with a replica World Series trophy with "Courage" and "Heart" placards. Interior ring band is marked "LGB 10K". The ring remains in its original hinged lid Yankees presentational box (small repaired crack). Seldom offered 1996 Yankees ring is one of the most desirable of the 1990-2000s dynasty era offered for the first time to the collecting public by the family of the original recipient (Wm.
