Description: Magnificent 1950 Philadelphia Phillies Ballantine Beer display banner. Dramatic display piece being the only example we know to exist and representing one of the finest period Phillies pieces we have seen or handled. Large blue background has applied gold felt edging and tassels with color matched "Phillies 1950 National League Champions" titling. At top stands a 14" tall chain stitch embroidered rendering of the teams' popular early batter logo. Bottom has the Ballantine Beer "Purity Body Flavor" interlocking rings. Upper Wooden support bar appears all original with metal end caps, central eyelet, and tassel ended rope. Well preserved with a hint of light scattered wear affecting a few isolated areas. Central portion measures approximately 28"x44", extended to 61" from top of rope to bottom of tassels when hanging.
