Description: 1876 National League Constitution and Playing Rules. Important first edition printing of the rules adopted by the National League in 1876. These rules laid the foundation during their first year of existence and continue to govern Major League baseball to this day. Published by Reach and Johnson on particularly fragile paper stock with evident wear inclusive of corner/edge wear, chipping, and splitting and loss at binding. There is moisture discoloration throughout and a small pencil notation on front cover.
