Description: 9/9/97 Phillies vs. Mets game related material played the day following death of Richie Ashburn. Trio of pieces as relate to the game played at Shea Stadium includes 14"x20.5" framed display housing printed newspaper article relaying game statistics and quoting Kalas and others. Small color photo within frame as taken that day has been signed by Scott Rolen and Tony Barron (frame signed on back by Kalas in marker rating 9 out of 10); Rico Brogna professional model Louisville Slugger bat displaying evident usage wear. Brogna hit a homerun to account for the Phillies (1-0) score; and Rawlings L.Coleman ONL baseball with evident use/wear which has been signed by Brogna and Ricky Bottalico and lettered "This Ones For Whitey (9/9/97)" on the sweetspot. It has been relayed by the Kalas family that the ball was presented to him by the players following the game and was one of his most cherished pieces. Ink and marker signatures rate 7 to 9 out of 10.
